Some of you know me better than others so I'll give you a little more background. I grew up in Ashtabula Ohio, a small city on the Northeastern shores of Lake Erie. I learned my Democratic values from my family....My grandfather worked on iron ore and coal boats that sailed the Great Lakes. My father is a retired professional firefighter and member of the IAFF Local 165. My mother continues to work at a retirement home and is a past member of the Teamsters Local 473. I served just under 10 years in the United States Navy with my service including four years on a Frigate (USS Truett, FF-1095), two years in Naples, Italy and three years in Norfolk, Va. I received an Honorable Discharge in December 1993. I have been working in the software quality assurance field ever since. I moved to Georgia in 2005 and live in the Dacula area with my wife Dana and our daughter Erin.
For a number of years after I got out of the Navy, I felt that something was missing. So I got into politics, Democratic politics. I have been involved for a number of years now, first in Northern Virginia and now here in Gwinnett County.
